2011 Volkswagen Touareg: Full Gallery with 70 High-Res Photos

Volkswagen just released a boatload of pictures showcasing its new Touareg which is set to hit European dealers next month. The German automaker's second-generation SUV, looking just as quirky as the last, has gotten itself upgraded with a bunch of efficient new power trains.
For example, there's the Touareg hybrid that features a TSI V6 hooked up to an E-Motor which put out a combined 380 horsepower (while reaching a top electric speed of 50 km/h and maintaining a fuel economy of 8.2L/100km / 29 MPG US).
Also, all other engines have either improved significantly in fuel economy and emissions or have been replaced. The 280-horsepower 3.6 liter V6 uses 9.9L/100 km (24 MPG US) and releases only 236g of CO2 per kilometer.
The V6 TDI is even better, at 7.4L/100km (32 MPG US) and 195g/km; in European guise it even puts out 240 horsepower and 550 Nm / 406 lb-ft of torque.
The V10 TDI, which is unfortunately gone from the lineup (because V10s are just so cool), has been replaced by a V8 TDI with 340 horsepower and a whopping 800 Nm / 590 lb-ft of torque; it only uses 9.1L/100km (26 MPG US) and 239g/km CO2.
For your ease, here are a few fast facts: the new Touareg is bigger in every way (except height, where it's 17mm shorter), "up to 222 kilogram[s]" lighter, has a maximum cargo area of 1,642 liters (58 cu ft), and provides customers with 2 different AWD systems (4MOTION, 4XMOTION).

SEMA 2008 : Fabrication de voitures vertes de zone

Il y avait encore beaucoup de véhicules sortant de l’ordinaire à SEMA cette année. Certains de ces véhicules ont été amplifiés, peints à l’aérosol et complètement changés. Des kits de changement un peu fou, les gros pneus, les surchauffeurs et les turbos, des puissances en chevaux de 400, 650, 750 et même bien au-dessus de 1.000 ont été vus sur leurs bannières pour la vue de tous. Et c’était juste dans la zone de « Fabrication verte ».C’était rempli de voitures, de camions, de motos et de produits pour prouver de l’attitude verte peut être amusant.

En particulier, les voitures étaient de grands exemples de cette théorie. Nous avons vu la 68 Camaro construite par OPM Customs qui est prévue pour contester la vitesse record de la E98. La voiture est faite de matériaux réutilisés et recyclables dans la mesure du possible, et devrait pouvoir faire 225 Mph. A côté, il y avait la « tige verte » de LK Motorsports, une Ford 33 actionnée par un GEOD, aidé d’un moteur 4.6 litres DOHC de Ford. Le système sur demande d’énergie verte vient de Assisted Energy et se compose d’une petite unité d’hydrogène. Produisant même plus de 400 HP, la voiture peut renvoyer plus de 30 mpg.

De l’autre côté des camions nous avons repéré un vieux préféré, la Mustang HP2g, un compétiteur professionnel des véhicules à moteur progressif X qui produit aussi 400 HP, mais pouvant renvoyer jusqu’à 110 MPGe. Si vous vous avérez justement être plus un amateur du costard-cravate, il y avait aussi le « Bio Rocket », un biodiesel Impala 65, construit par Galpin Auto Sports et dévoilé par le Gouverneur de la Californie, Arnold Schwarzenegger lors de la Journée de la Terre. Les fans de la Corvette ont pu voir la Corvette C6 750 chevaux, avec l’installation innovatrice arrière de STS Turbo, ou la ALMS GT1winning C6.R Vette qui roule sur E85 cellulosique.

Il y avait également un trio de Priuses, incluant une « Zimbra » refaite par  Batmobile et le créateur de Batsmart, George Barris. Comme le Barris Prius, le salon automatique VIP en exposition était plus question d’améliorer les looks et la performance de la Prius que d’améliorer l’économie, intrinsèquement, mais les mises à niveau des roues de M.i.O +81 prECiOus promettent un poids plus léger et une manipulation améliorée et l’efficacité au-dessus des unités d’OEM. La dernière Prius était le modèle Hymotion qui a promis une exécution optimisée et 100+ MPGe grâce à son système de conversion A123 L5 de Nanophosphate d’hybride.

So, how do you make an already scorching hot supercar like the recently facilitated Lamborghini Gallardo even more spicier? Lamborghini's answer to that question is make it lighter and more powerful.

Easier said than done when you're talking about a car like the Gallardo that has already been pushed to the limits, but Lambo's engineers found a way to cut 154 pounds (70kg) bringing the weight down to 2,954 lbs (1,340kg) and add another 10 ponies to the V10 engine bumping output to 570HP.
